Moments Etched into the Soul Forever
BIRTH IS TRANSFORMATIVE
It is not just a beginning; it is a claiming of power. It is a space to witness, to preserve - because these moments deserve to be remembered.
Hi, I’m Amy, mother, daughter, wife -softened and strengthened by love, life, and truth. I know how much your story matters, and I am honoured to preserve it for you with photos & film.
Birth is Raw, Real, and Beautiful…
And I notice all of it.
The way your partner rubs your back or holds your hands. The look of amazement as they witness you. Your birth team, who made a difference in your journey. The look on your face when you meet your sweet squishy baby as they are lifted on your chest.
First cries, wrinkled fingers and toes, baby fuzz, and siblings meeting for the first time…
I've been supporting families as a doula since 2008, long before I ever picked up a camera. After hundreds of births, I understood exactly what gets lost, and exactly what families wish they had.
I see those moments. I see those details. This is birth photography.
What does it mean for you to have a doula behind the camera?
After witnessing 300+ births, I arrive with a camera and a deep understanding of what you might be feeling, what your partner might need, and how to be genuinely supportive without getting in the way.
When I'm booked as your birth photographer, the essence of my doula experience is always present.
Some families choose to add my more in-depth doula services to their birth photography; prenatal education, comfort measures, and birth preparation. If this is something you are curious about, just ask.
Birth Photography Client Testimonial
Amy’s (Blessed Touch Photography) name couldn’t be more fitting; she truly is a blessing.
There is something incredibly sacred about the way she sees and captures birth. Every image reflects not just what happened, but what it felt like. Her eye is remarkable, and her talent is undeniable. These photos are some of the most meaningful things I own. I will treasure them forever.

Imagine holding the moments of your birth story in your hands…
Years from now, when your child asks, you can tell them about the day they were born. Your family can gather around and watch the story on film.
You’ll have photos to fill in the hazy parts, and they will bring you back to that transformative day every time.
Amy is a calm, grounding presence to have by your side…
Amy is a talented photographer and an all-around beautiful person. She captured the birth of our second baby. Not only does Amy take stunning, creative, and insightful photos, but she is also a calm, grounding presence to have by your side during birth. I highly recommend her services.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every birth is unique, and so is every family's situation. If you don't see your question answered here, please reach out. I respond personally to every inquiry.

As early as possible, ideally between 20 and 30 weeks. Due to the nature of birth photography, I limit the number of births per month to ensure I am available and on-call for you. Once you're booked, I will be on call from 37 weeks until your baby arrives.
-
From 37 weeks, I keep my schedule clear and my bags packed. When active labour begins, you contact me, day or night, and I come to you.
We will discuss all the details when you book so you know exactly when to contact me.
-
This is the nature of birth and I'm prepared for both.
For fast labours, I may arrive closer to delivery and I'll document everything from the moment I walk in.
For long labours, I will be there, stepping out briefly if needed to rest, and returning refreshed and ready.
Birth is unpredictable, and as a professional birth photographer - I’m ready to capture your birth story however it unfolds.
-
All of them.
Hospital births (including medicated, unmedicated, and induced), home births, birth centre births, water births, and Caesarean sections. I have experience in Ottawa-area hospitals, the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre, La Maison De Naissance, and home birth environments across the region, including Gatineau and surrounding communities.
-
I operate with a documentary approach; present but unobtrusive, capturing moments without directing them.
I work quietly in the background, using natural and available light wherever possible, using flash with your permission.
I have extensive experience reading a room and knowing when to move closer and when to step back. Your birth team and your comfort always come first.
-
Yes.
Many families find the combination to be the most complete way to preserve the experience.
Still images capture the singular moments; film captures the breath, the sounds, the movement between them.
Ask me about packages that include both photography and a short birth film when you inquire. (Signature and Legacy Packages)

Birth rarely goes exactly to plan and that's okay. Whether your planned home birth transfers to hospital, your birth moves to a C-section, or something entirely unexpected unfolds, I will adapt and stay with you as possible.
I'm experienced in navigating all of these situations with sensitivity and professionalism, and the documentation of your birth story will still go on.
*We will chat more about all the details as sometimes I may not be allowed in certain spaces such as ORs, but we can go over those details when we meet.
-
Absolutely.
I work with all families; 2SLGBTQ+ families, single parents, different family structures, surrogates, all identities, and birth stories are welcome and celebrated here.
Please reach out with any questions.
-
You'll receive sneak peeks within 24-48 hours because I know the excitement of those first days and want you to have something to share.
Your full edited gallery is typically delivered within 6-8 weeks. Birth films take a little longer due to the editing process. I'll keep you informed throughout.
-
I offer three packages: Essential ($1,499), Signature ($2,099), and Legacy ($2,499). Each with full on-call coverage from 37 weeks.
Payment plans are available on all packages.
